In the embrace of Arcadian nature, just outside the picturesque village of Elati, stands the Church of Zoodochos Pigi, a place full of history, memories and devotion. It was built between 2000 and 2002, where an older church once stood in the abandoned settlement of Garzenikos. Its inhabitants, two centuries ago, abandoned their place, leaving behind stones that silently tell the story of the passage of time.

The church, with its stately simplicity, follows the architecture of the cruciform style, a form that unites grandeur with austerity and keeps alive the symbol of faith. From the late Byzantine years until the end of the Ottoman occupation, this architecture was the heart of the worship life of the Greeks.

The area around Elati is a hymn to nature. Visitors, in addition to the spiritual peace offered by the temple, can feel the absolute harmony with the natural landscape. Next to the church, the crystalline springs of Mainalos gush ceaselessly, offering gurgling, life-giving water, while the giant plane trees offer their precious shade.
